ABOUT US
AnyBody Yoga
is for every body.
AnyBody Yoga CIC provides trauma-informed yoga and somatic movement practices to individuals and communities who may not ordinarily access or feel represented within traditional yoga spaces, particularly those living with the impacts of trauma, chronic stress, or nervous system dysregulation. Everyone is welcome at our classes.
MEET FRANKIE
My story
Yoga became an essential body-based healing tool in my own recovery from substance misuse addiction 15 years ago It was how I found my way back into a body I’d learned to escape from, a body that didn’t feel safe
That practice bedded down further when I became a carer for my young person, who lives with complex mental health needs. At a time when support for parents and carers going through the same thing was in desperately short supply, my mat became one of the only places I could hold what I was carrying.
We are living through a time when mental health and recovery services are buckling under the weight of need, with nowhere near enough resource to meet it. That’s exactly why it feels more necessary than ever to give people tools they can use themselves, real, practical pathways to their own wellness, not dependent on a system that’s already stretched too thin.
The UK’s wellness industry is worth an estimated £170 billion, yet often the people who need those spaces the most are the ones least able to afford them. AnyBody Yoga CIC makes trauma-informed yoga and somatic movement practices accessible to individuals and communities who may not ordinarily access or feel represented within traditional yoga spaces, particularly those living with the impacts of trauma, chronic stress, or nervous system dysregulation.
A trauma-informed approach
AnyBody Yoga offer trauma-informed classes, workshops, and training sessions in community centres, mental health support settings, recovery organisations, prisons, schools, and other outreach environments. Our approach is grounded in compassion, consent, and empowerment, with a strong emphasis on creating choice-based environments that foster physical, emotional, and psychological safety.
All profits are reinvested into expanding access to trauma-informed movement, providing subsidised sessions, training new trauma-informed teachers from within the communities we serve, and creating partnerships with organisations that align with our values.
By offering these services, we hope to contribute to a more equitable and holistic model of community health and well-being.
